The Players

_MG_0030 The Ti-Ahwaga Community Players, Inc. is a non-profit community theater organization that is motivated by the sheer joy of entertaining and has been producing quality live theater in Tioga County, NY, since 1958. The Players have staged at least one show a year since 1959, which has earned the them the proud distinction of being one of the oldest continually active community theater groups in upstate New York.

The Ti-Ahwaga Community Players truly honor the “Community” part of their name by always welcoming new members, whether their interests lie on stage or backstage. Though the group is based in Owego, NY, its members come from many surrounding communities and are comprised of a wide spectrum of society. Artists, students, homemakers, business owners, and professionals all work together to make live theater happen right here in Tioga County.

Over the years, the group performed in schools, churches, community halls, and hotels. You name the place and they probably either played there or very seriously considered it.

Little Shop of HorrorsIn 1997, the Ti-Ahwaga Community Players took a great leap into the unknown and purchased a building which became their permanent home. The former food processing plant has been transformed into a quality theater space that the players hope all members of the community can benefit from.

Ti-Ahwaga Players is a New York State registered not-for-profit corporation, and an IRS section 501(c)(3) charitable organization eligible to receive tax exempt contributions in accordance with section 170 of the Internal Revenue Service Code.
