Who We Are: Ti-Ahwaga Community Players, Inc

About

Ti-Ahwaga Community Players is a non-profit organization, incorporated in 1960, that has been producing quality live theatre here locally, and encouraging the intellectual, moral, and social advancement of its members. In 2001, the Ti-Ahwaga Performing Arts Center, TCP's new permanent home, opened its doors'.

Our Mission

Ti-Ahwaga Community Players' mission is to stimulate, promote, and encourage the active participation of local community members who are interested in theatre, to enhance cultural values in the community, and to work for the intellectual, moral, and social advancement of everyone involved.

Our History

TCP is the oldest continuously active performing arts facility in Tioga County and in the state, since 1958.  In the late 1990’s, the board of directors and a committee of community members purchased the current building on 42 Delphine St.  With the support of our generous community, TCP rebuilt the facility to be the Ti-Ahwaga Performing Arts Center for Tioga County.  In 2001, we opened our doors with our first musical production, Anything Goes and we have been producing 5-6 shows each year, with the exception of the year of the pandemic.  Additionally, the facility is used by other theaters, dance studios, schools, musical groups, local clubs and organizations to house their diverse needs.  We are proud of this accomplishment, surviving natural disasters, unprecedented health crisis, and ultimately being able to say that we are the proud owners of our current facility.
